Cleaning and Care of Viking Wire Knit
Care: Do NOT fold viking wire knit!! Do not crush. If it gets
folded run it through your fingers until you gently easy the kinks
out.

- Coated Copper Wire: Viking Wire Knit made with coated copper
wire should never be cleaned with an abrasive cleaner! All that
should be necessary is gentle cleaning with a soft cloth. The
clasps can be cleaned with a tiny amount of "old fashion" style
"paste" toothpaste.
Sterling Silver Wire: Please also note, that if you purchased a
piece that is sterling silver plate over copper wire follow the
cleaning instructions for the Coated Copper Wire. If you
decide to clean "solid" sterling silver wire, use "old fashion" style
paste toothpaste (Colgate has one still on the market). Because
of the small spaces created by viking wire knit, repeated washing
will be necessary to remove all traces of the paste. Also, use only
a very small amount of toothpaste. Silver dip cleaners are
available, but we haven't experimented to see how work they work
on the wire knit.
Uncoated Copper Wire: We actually do not recommend
cleaning this wire, because of the beautiful patina that develops
over time. If you feel it is necessary to clean, use any
commercially available copper cleaner. Just make sure it is
thoroughly rinsed after cleaning and before wearing again.
Our Guarantee:
- We guarantee our chains for life against normal wear and tear. If
you break the chain, we'll fix or replace for free. Clasps are
guaranteed for a year after purchase; after that, we'll fix the item
for postage and material costs.
