The Wired Viking - A Viking's Dream
Frequently Answered Questions:
Q:  How do you care for your coated copper wire jewelry.
A:
Rub gently with a soft cloth.  Do not keep in a hot location
(copper especially is heat-sensitive).   Do NOT use an abrasive
cleaner as it will ruin the protective coating and cause the piece to
start to patina.

Q:  How did you start making this type of jewelry?
A:
It starts with being a Viking Re-enactor and a jewelry maker
since the early 1990s.  My late life-partner and I started looking for
types of jewelry to add to our Viking personae (viking men and
women were very fond of jewelry).  By accident, we discovered a
book describing the process of viking wire knit.  After some
investigation, we found evidence that it created a type of chain
used during the viking era.

Q:  Do you teach viking wire knit?
A:
Currently, I do not teach publicly offered classes in viking wire
knit.  It is something I've been considering.  Email me at
avikingsdream@gmail.com if you are interested I'll notify you if an
opportunity arises.

Q:  Do you sell kits with instructions and supplies so I can
learn to do viking wire knit?
A:
Currently, I do not.  I am considering doing so.  Email me at
avikingsdream@gmail.com if you are interested.

Q:  Vikings had access to wire?
A:
Yes, they did.  Wire, in various forms, has been around for a
least a couple thousand years.

Q:  Why are you a Viking re-enactor?
A:
Vikings are a fascinating people with a rich and fascinating
history.  My viking group can be found at
http://www.lostvikingshoard.com/reenactors.htm  .  We participate
in Viking fun, both historical and hysterical.
